The sweetest things in our life happens suddenly (English text follows)

The sweetest things in our life happens suddenly. One beautiful day of summer 2005 my son asked me to get him to actors agency as it is cool to be in movie :-) So, we’ve found such agency in downtown of Edmonton and Saturday morning we have applied for my son. While applying I was approached by a black lady working for this agency who asked: “Are you Polish or Ukrainian?.. Ukrainian? Than you must know a priest in this town. We need a priest for tomorrow!” So, I’ve found a church in Yellow Pages, but priest was on vacations. “No problem” said energetic lady: “You gonna be the priest. Please.”
Next day I was on the filming stage. The filming was a high standard as it appeared to me – a lot of filming equipment, big cool movie trucks, few streets blocked and part of a big hospital turned to filming area. Well Hollywood filming in Edmonton is a big deal.
“He is Ok. Ready to go” – surprised me make up lady. While other extras actors were seating in male up chairs for an hour I appeared at stage with no make up at all! “May be I am kind of spare priest?” I thought…
Et voila. I am in big old church in the heart of Edmonton in company of professional extras actors and top Hollywood actors reading scripts. They are friendly smiling to me and asking: “Are you a real priest or an actor?” And I am neither… Then filming begin. Nothing complicated to me. “Go out there, open the door, stay here and welcome the people coming out of your church”. Two shots and ready.
After this first time as a priest I was called by the agency two or three times more to be an extras actor. Then few month later I’ve got my photo by email from Hollywood. They mentioned that film is expected to be seen on Canadian TV on Christmas. The film is “The Christmas Blessing ” b.t.w. Funny, the day of premiere of this movie on Canadian TV I missed the episode with me at very beginning of the movie, but movie itself was so touchy.
And yesterday on TV I saw “The Christmas Shoes ” – the film made back in 2002 which is preceded The Christmas Blessing. My God I’ve got shocked! I have never seen more dramatic and the same time beautiful film about Christmas… I’d say this movie is so dramatic to me and so christmasy – all about that sacre meaning of that celebration. And Chris Low is outstanding in this movie. Guys, it was all not big deal to me until I saw the movie yesterday. I am just proud to be on this picture with Chris Low in such touchy and full of sense a motion picture.

Moses, I’ve forgot already how did I feel :-) back in 2005. If this is a sign it must be a long running sign :-) It is 2009 now, I am still far from to be a real priest.
Я вже забув, як я себе почував :-) Це було у 2005-му. Зараз 2009-й і я ще далекий від того, щоби стати справжнім священиком.
